NIRA debuts first wearable smart thermometer to fight COVID-19
Peabody, MA – NIRA Skin (www.NIRAskin.com) announces the launch of NIRA Temp (www.NIRAtemp.com), a wearable smart thermometer that provides real-time insight into the users’ temperature and sends alerts at the first sign of a health concern. The thermometer goes on like a bandage and works 24/7 syncing to the NIRA Temp Apps to remotely and effectively check users’ temperatures. Using similar cutting-edge microchip technology from their NIRA Skincare Laser, the NIRA team designed a wearable smart thermometer, allowing people and organizations to gain insight into early fever detection by receiving customizable alerts.
The NIRA Temp thermometer is designed and assembled in the USA and is FDA, HIPPA, DGPR and CCPA compliant with accuracy within 0.2 degrees Fahrenheit (0.1 Celsius). The wearable smart thermometer comes charged with a 365-day battery life and works 24/7 in a water-resistant, comfortable design. The secure mobile apps allow for custom alerts, history, medical note taking, and family sharing. The device takes measurements regularly throughout the day and works with an algorithm that predicts when health is of concern. Made to monitor health in real-time for families, schools, businesses, organizations and healthcare systems, the NIRA Temp app provides a visual display of temperature over time displaying individualized data. Automated alerts are configured by the user to send messages by SMS/text, email or on-phone notifications. Users may share data with their families and organizations through the app’s opt-in features. Organizations can access group data through a cloud-based API and web-based organizational dashboard, all with NIRA Temp’s high-level of security and privacy using encryption and other privacy methods.
“During the COVID-19 quarantine, the US effectively shut down all social interactions because of health and safety concerns. At NIRA, we wanted to utilize our technology to enable schools, factories, healthcare systems, offices and other organization to resume campus activities in the most safe and effective way possible. Knowing that contactless thermometers are often unreliable and daily testing can be impractical and expensive, we knew that we could create something that worked better,” says President & Founder David Bean. Bean, a seasoned entrepreneur who developed successful laser technologies for professional medical, surgical, military, home and telecom systems, continued “The NIRA Temp thermometer is the proactive way to maintain a healthy community. It’s so simple and easy to use; you simply set it in the morning and forget it! Most importantly, it is accurate, secure and effective; with the NIRA Temp thermometer, you can feel more confident in social situations, especially within organizations where you know safety monitoring is the norm so that disease spreading is controlled. ”
146 million people in the USA work on campuses that require close social interactions. This includes students, healthcare workers, military personnel, and nursing home residents. NIRA Temp devices are intended to be used in conjunction with other protection measures such as face masks and reasonable social distancing. NIRA Temp is applied under the armpit in the Axillary area with an adhesive bandage sticker. The axillary-area temperature is medically-accepted and accurate for medical decision making. NIRA Temp’s small size is designed for comfort and discrete use so users may wear all-day long without disruption to their normal activity. In addition to use with families and campus organizations, the NIRA Temp is applicable for use in nursing homes, hospitals and other healthcare organizations where the risk of disease spread is greatest, the risk to patients is greatest, and the need for constant monitoring is most valuable. “Automated wireless temperature monitoring reduces bottlenecks as compared to manual monitoring at building entrances,” states Cindy Le, NIRA Temp Director of Marketing. ”And for healthcare workers, NIRA Temp enables real-time measurements without having to enter at-risk patient rooms saving time and personal protective equipment.”
The device is available for pre-order at www.NIRAtemp.com for both individuals and organizations. The NIRA Temp device comes with a one-month starter supply of mounting bandages and free mobile apps. Pre-orders for organizational devices include a 1-year subscription to the organization API and web-based organizational dashboard. Orders are scheduled to ship in volume early August.
