Fitbit Charge 2 Has Huge Advantage With Almost Unlimited Switchable Bands

My wife’s first Fitbit, as primitive as it was, finally died.  I can’t even remember how long ago she bought it.  But in all fairness, it had a challenging life and was not immune to occasional fits of abuse.  What finally gave out was the wrist band, which started to tear next to the actual Fitbit device itself.

Okay, if i’m being totally honest the thing on the back that holds the charger in place decided it wanted freedom every time she removed the USB charging wire.  And having to manually force it (against it’s will) to want to be a part of the whole Fitbit thing was taking a toll.  And it broke too.

But none of this is in anyway intended to be a customer review or negative comment.  For three years this “thing” rode shotgun with my wife on every hill she climbed, every 25,000 step day (and there were many) and it asked for nothing in return, except for some juice from the USB.

But that was three years ago.

So much has changed in a sector where tech wearables have exponentially run in every direction to try and capture every available whim.

And speaking of whims, Nicole isn’t going to settle for the boring black band that 2014 gave her.

Did I also mention that this technically happened just slightly in advance of birthday, making the events that followed seem a little bit suspicious in hindsight.

Fitbit Charge 2

So we’ve brought the girl with her first Fitbit back into the online retail scene to see how much wearable fitness trackers have evolved beyond boring and plastic and you get one color called Henry Ford black.

Based on the beautiful symphony of price, functions and familiarity she chose the Fitbit Charge 2.  She loves all of the enhanced features that are a leap beyond her original Fitbit, but also the flexibility of the device.  And as someone who has been writing about wearable tech for some time this is a key reason why Fitbit may have a bigger moat around it’s share of wearables than some may think.

Every time you step up to a ‘newer’ or ‘improved’ version of what you had it’s already a positive.  But when a new dimension of usability or practicality comes with it, that’s the icing on the cake.   The Fitbit Charge 2 is the cake, and pretty sweet I might add, but what you can to with it is the icing.  So here it is: with a Fitbit Charge 2 you can easily swap out your wrist bands to an almost unlimited degree to go with your day, your activity or your fashion.  Easily.

Fitbit Hiding Bracelet by FUNKtional

Look business chic at the office? Check.  Casual meeting friends on the boardwalk? Check.  Dressed up and out in the evening. Check.

At last “check” there were so many third party designers who have rushed to the Fitbit Charge 2 to provide a fashion solution that we honestly can’t keep track.  In a world where the 800 pound gorillas get all of the press, Fitbit and designers supporting the accessorization of Fitbit devices have literally exploded.

We could literally write pages and pages on all of the fashion options for up-styling a Fitbit Charge 2, but there isn’t enough time in this life.  So stay tuned for our next reports specifically listing the most popular Fitbit Charge 2 bands for evening, fashion and more.

If you haven’t had a serious look at the Fitbit Charge 2, and are looking for a fitness wearable that fits you instead of a more complicated smart watch that wants you to fit to it, you’re in the right place.  It’s a phenomenal device that is supported by a fun, easy to use app and multiple days of use between charges that we (and by we, I mean Nicole) highly recommend from first hand experience.

But seriously, the wrist bands that you can switch out are amazing.  If you don’t want to wait for our forthcoming lists, check out our shortlist of search results here.
